DETA FRESH START ACADEMY
DETA FRESH START ACADEMY is a daycare provider. Its intent is to serve superbly the families of the Greater Little Rock community, by providing for their children, superior academic services, loving care, nutritious food, and quality programming.
DETA is licensed by Arkansas’s Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education (DCCECE) as a “Better Beginnings'' center. A copy of DETA license certificate is posted in the foyer, 6401 west 32nd street. A copy of DCCECE’s “Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers'' manual, the current City of Little Rock, the Pulaski County Health Department’s sanitation inspection reports, and/or any other reports are available upon request. DETA endeavors to not only meet, but also exceed the standards set by the Department of Human Services. Nevertheless, should an allegation of non-compliance or irregularity occur, by law, DETA employees, parents, and/or any child may be interviewed by Child Care Licensing personnel, a Division of Children and Family Services investigator, and/or a member of Arkansas State Law Enforcement.
Parents considering child placement will be given a tour of DETA facilities, introduced to a person likely to be the child’s teacher, shown samples of materials being used, and given an abbreviated briefing on the operation and policies of DETA. At the conclusion of the tour, if the parents wish to enroll their child, they will be interviewed to determine with a reasonable degree of certainty whether DETA can meet the perceived needs of their child. If the child is accepted, and an opening exists, the parents shall pay the registration fee and choose a near-term “start” date. On the other hand, if no opening exists or is imminent, they may pay the registration fee and have their child’s name placed on DETA waiting list. When an age-appropriate opening is foreseen, the parents of the child at the top of the list will be contacted immediately. Either way, once the start date for a child to attend is agreed on, the registration fee is forfeited, and no portion is refundable. Enrollment at DETA is made without regard to race, sex, creed, religion, or national origin, and our programs, facilities, services and methods of communication are accessible to individuals with disabilities insofar as this can be accomplished without fundamentally altering the nature of the program or putting an unacceptable burden on LSS’ staff.
